1889 J. E. Baker Company is established in York, USA
1909 Dolomitwerke is established in Hagen, Germany by August Thyssen
1912 First rotary kiln begins operation in Hagen
1927 Start of refractory production in Kruft, Germany
1938 Start of brick production in Hagen and Valenciennes
1964 Start of brick production in York
1971 Start of alumina monolithics production in Kruft
1973 Start of magnesia brick production in Oberhausen, Germany
1992 Valenciennes and Flaumont plants acquired by Lhoist Group, to become Lhoist Refractaires
1997 Baker / Envoy joint venture Kaohsiung, Taiwan
1997 Engineered Ceramics Plant begins production in York
1999 Acquisition of Dolomitwerke Wülfrath resulting in merger with Lhoist Refractaires to become Wülfrath Refractories
2001 Acquisition of Baker Refractories – resulting in merger with Wülfrath Refractories to become LWB Refractories
2006 Joint Venture with TISCO in Taiyuan, China
2008 Start of brick production in Chizhou, China
